She is also a lifelong reader and writer who always has a book in her hand and a pen in her pocket. She has a BA in Creative Writing and has worked as a freelance editor for fourteen years, specializing in new authors writing fantasy and YA.
Though she has taken a meandering path when it comes to career (including work as a ministry coordinator, an intern with the United States Forest Service, an X-ray tech, a freelance editor, and a ghostwriter), her heart has always been in fiction and imaginative storytelling. In an era of rising AI use, she deeply loves human-driven creativity and does not use AI in any process of her work.
When not chasing creative pursuits, she’s chasing her three children, petting her angelic calico cat, or wrangling her whip-smart hellhound of a dog. She lives in Southwest Montana, with her husband and the rest of her motley crew.
